The pool house contains a bathroom and space for all the pool mechanical equipment, and the exterior has a conveniently places outdoor shower to quickly rinse off before and after your pool fun. The pergola was designed to provide shade from the hot afternoon sun while maximizing the patio space for amazing summer lounging. I definitely could see myself relaxing in this summer oasis! We loved designing this simple but stunning outbuilding for our client.

At BDC Home Design we design custom homes. This is a creative process that requires artistic skill, and technical abilities. Architectural designers spend many years in school and working on the job to grow and develop the skills needed to create beautiful, functional, and safe custom home designs. We use our time to imagine and create custom home designs that meet the needs and wants of our clients. In return our clients pay us for the time we spend on their projects.
When we design a home we wish we could give concrete time frames for completing a project. Unfortunately that is just not possible in custom home design. There are too many unknowns in a design project that could affect the time a project takes. A big consideration in the home design process is the creative process that really shouldn’t be rushed. A second consideration is how much time the client takes to review their project.
How we optimize the time we spend and the cost
Our goal at BDC Home design is to provide our clients with the best design service possible. We have developed a design system to speed up the design process without sacrificing quality. How do we do this? We use the latest in 3D design technology as we design our floor plans and elevations. As a result, we have the ability to create 3D renderings from the model quickly. We also use new virtual reality software, LenzVR, to create a full scale, immersive, and realistic rendering of the home.
Using this software, we are able to get accurate feedback from our clients quickly and use the feedback to quickly update the design. Virtual Reality is really a game changer when it come to design review. No longer are our clients guessing at what their home will look like when they look at their 2D floor plans. They can see all the details in the plan, from walls and floors, all the way up to ceilings and roofs.
Why Speed matters?
In today’s economy with rising prices, inflation, and supply chain issues, speed is most important. We have recently seen inflation lead to sharp increases month after month in nearly all construction materials. And each month that a project spends in the design phase, could ultimately lead to increased costs to build your dream home. Which in turn could leave you with less money for landscaping, furniture, or other home upgrades.
